As a child I loved looking through all the family photo albums and individual pictures. However, being born much later than my siblings, life got hectic for my parents and family photo sessions got pushed aside. Sadly, I don't have one photo of both my parents, myself and my siblings together. It just doesn't exist.
My parents and my husbands parents passed while my children were fairly young and how I wish photos of all of us together existed.
I decided early on that I would start documenting people's lives in print. I started taking photography classes in high school then continued working in the photo industry after high school. The only thing that has stayed common is a print. Negatives, slides, CD's, USB's etc can all still be accessed but most times it is with a lot of effort and old technology. A beautiful heirloom print, a luxury canvas on your wall or an archival album is the only thing that can be cherished daily. It is always a good time for photographs.
