As a child I loved looking through all the family photo albums and individual pictures. However, being born much later than my siblings, life got hectic for my parents and family photo sessions got pushed aside. Sadly, I don't have one photo of both my parents, myself and my siblings together. It just doesn't exist.
Fast forward many years and as my husband and I are building a family, our parents got older and in fact passed while our children were fairly young and another moment in time is gone for us. How I wish we would have taken the time to get pictures of all of us together.
One thing I do know from spending years in the photo industry is the only thing that has stayed common is a print. I still have all the negatives, slides, CD's, & USB's which can all still be accessed but most times it is with a lot of effort and old technology. I believe leaving a legacy for others should include something printed. It is always a good time for photographs.
